Title: Pavillion
When I was young and a dreamer I was desperate to be an architect. This was a somewhat silly notion for someone who was totally undisciplined and averse to anything technical. As an adult painter I therefore avoided representing anything involving buildings; a problem when wanting to paint a Hindi temple.
I didn’t let this get in the way of me painting this one; the spirit of the Brighton Pavilion, a spectacular Indian inspired fantasy palace in the heart of Brighton.
I was so pleased with the result although I still think that I’d not construct a very reliable building.
