Title: Flowers

It is not unusual for painters to progress from classic work to more abstract approaches. This painting demonstrates me going into reverse. I started off painting a very dark and decorative piece featuring floral shapes and foliage, later adding detail, brighter and a more natural colour palette. I really enjoyed this departure from my more characteristic work but as can easily be observed I couldn’t resist eventually heading for a dark background and more abstracted detail.
