Title: Doodle 6

I’m a very restless person with the need to be constantly active; preferably using a brush, pencils or pens; sitting still in front of the telly is not in my repertoire. So instead of constant phone checking , emptying the fridge and changing channels  I set up a mini studio on my coffee table and work on my ‘Doodle series’. These are small versions of my abstract work. I work very fast at first, blocking colour and introducing shapes and texture. I do a few of these in an evening and then leave them to dry until I pick them up over the next few days in the studio, studying each in turn, looking afresh at what is before me and making decisions about what characteristics I should introduce or develop. I keep going so that often these doodles are very detailed as well as being the source of inspiration for larger work.
