Title: Mugla lake

The composition of this piece was inspired by a wall hanging I bought in the 70’s titled ‘Lake’ and which translated well to a lake I visited en route from Bitez to Izmir. I fell in love with the setting and later explored buying a plot on the lakeside to build a weekend home. The beauty was deceptive; on investigation I discovered that the lake was ‘dead’…fish had, over time disappeared and swimming had been banned due to the heavy pollution (all that glitters etc.)
